You can now get Disney/Pixar’s Cars 2 on DVD and Blu-ray with some fun bonus features. The story stars everyone’s favorite tow truck Mater (Tow Mater) as he gets entangled in a world-wide espionage plot. Bumbling Mater manages to save the day even though he has no idea what he is doing.

The storyline might be a little too sophisticated for very young viewers, however the film itself is a lot of fun for everyone. Only Disney and Pixar can create animated cars with heart. It’s amazing how they don’t seem like cars but just fun characters. With the realistic-looking automobiles and scenery, this is a movie that captures the imaginations of all ages and now you can get Cars 2 on DVD.

The locations move from Radiator Springs to Tokyo to Paris to Italy to London and back to Radiator Springs as Lightning McQueen takes part in a World Grand Prix and Mater gets involved in a dangerous situation with two British spies. The realistic scenery combined with the fun characters are truly enjoyable, however the subtle humor is what I found adorable. For instance, when Mater is dressed up in a German outfit he says he is wearing “Mater Hosen” which is a play on words with “Lederhosen.” Another fun wordplay is with the names. A sports announcer is Brent Mustangburger and the famous clock in London is Big Bentley. And those are just the tip of the iceberg. The film is riddled with fun names and signs which you can spot on the Cars 2 DVD. You just have to listen and watch!

There are two bonus shorts on the Cars 2 DVD that add to the fun of these discs. “Hawaiian Vacation” stars the toys from Toy Story. At the end of Toy Story 3 Andy gave all his toys to little Bonnie. Now Bonnie is going on vacation to Hawaii and Barbie and Ken think they are going with her. When she leaves without any of her toys, the whole gang creates their own tropical paradise for the couple.  In “Air Mater” the rusty tow truck asks a flight instructor, “Can you learn me how to fly?” Well, believe it or not, Mater does get outfitted with flight gear and learns to fly. He then joins the Falcon Hawks, a stunt team and has an exciting adventure.

You can get Cars 2 on DVD and Blu-ray in the combo pack (1 DVD, 1 Blu-ray), or a 5-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (1 Blu-ray 3D Disc, 2 Blu-ray Discs, 1 DVD and a Digital Copy, an 11-disc 3 Movie Blu-ray Combo Pack “Collector’s Set” which includes Cars 1, Cars 2, Mater’s Tall Tales, and bonus discs, a single DVD, and as a movie download.

The cars from Cars have captivated audiences since they first hit the screen in 2006. Disney California Adventure is creating an entire Cars Land which will open in the summer of 2012 with several fun attractions based on the characters from the movies. Who would have thought that a story about cars – without any humans – would be so much fun? Disney and Pixar – that’s who and now you can watch Cars 2 on DVD.
