Disney fans of all ages gathered at the Anaheim Convention Center August 19-21 for the D23 Expo 2011. The event was filled with new announcements as well as plenty of products for fans to see - and buy.

Disney President and CEO Bob Iger said D23 Expo is "all things Disney under one roof," and wow - was he ever correct! The D23 Expo 2011 was filled with everything imaginable, including toys - old and new, clothing, TV and DVD screenings, a look at the new Cars Land being built in California Adventure, a peek at the new Aulani Resort in Hawaii, plenty of art work, food, ideas for Disney parties, music, appearances by Disney actors and singers, and plenty more. Everything you can imagine was represented at the expo. And guess what? There is a new line of OPI nail polish based on the Pirates of the Caribbean movie and Muppets inspired colors that are fit for Miss Piggy herself!

The D23 Expo included a Disney Legends Ceremony in which several people were named to the roster of Disney Legends.  Mr. Iger mentioned that the "legends are the best in Disney film and television." Among the new "Legends" were five women whose voices brought to life the newest Disney Princesses. Paige O'Hara (the voice of Belle), Anika Noni Rose (the voice of Tiana), Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel), Linda Larkin (the speaking voice of Jasmine) and Lea Salonga (the singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan) were all on hand to join in the festivities. 

And if you thought you've seen everything there is to see with the Disney Princesses, think again. There is a new line called the "Princess Designer Collection." The classic Disney Princesses have had a make-over. Their new look is sleeker and more sophisticated. Of course, you can still get products with their original look, but this new series is something that has never been done before. Think: Disney Princesses on a high-fashion fashion show runway. They're exquisite. 

As Disney President and CEO Bob Iger told the gathering via taped message, Disney is about its people." The event honored not only the newest additions to the Disney Legends roster, but just by its very nature, D23 Expo honors everyone connected to Disney, both professionally and as fans.
