Julie met Tom when, as a school librarian, she became interested in his first book, Animal Time. "We became friends," she said, "fell in love, married and have a wonderful daughter." Their six-year-old daughter, Violet, "loves all the babies and children". She reads Tom's books to them during photo shoots, and she and her friends "really enjoy dressing up in the costumes."
