Movie Review: Aliens in the Attic

"High School Musical's" Ashley Tisdale helps save the world in what is sure to be a family adventure classic in Aliens in the Attic.

When 4 aliens bent on taking over the world descend upon the unsuspecting Pearson family, it's up to the Pearson kids to turn the tables - all while keeping their parents out of the loop!

Who will win? Let's look at the contenders:

The Aliens Skip - the leader of the Aliens. He's short, chubby and bad-tempered, voiced by J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson in all 3 Spiderman films).

Tazer - – What he lacks in brains, he makes up for in muscle, voiced by Thomas Haden Church (The Sandman in Spiderman 3; OscarŽ nominee for the movie, "Sideways").

Razor - Both "beauty" and "beast," she'd be a force to be reckoned with, if only her teammates weren't so incompetent, voiced by Kari Wahlgren ("Bolt").

Sparks– Mr. Fix-it. Klutzy, yet kind. He might be just what the kids need, voiced by Josh Peck ("Ice Age: The Meltdown").

Alien Advantage - A powerful mind control device they use to get humans to do their bidding.

Alien Disadvantage - It only works on adults, giving the kids the opportunity to stop the alien invasion before it starts!

The Pearson Kids Big Sister Bethany -– Played by Ashley Tisdale of the "High School Musical" phenomenon 15-year-old techno-geek Tom - Played by Carter Jenkins Little Sister Hannah – Played by Ashley Boettcher Cousins Jake (Austin Butler) and identical 12-year-old twins Art (Henri Young) and Lee (Regan Young)

Pearson Advantage - 1) Their imaginations. The kids come up with ingenious ways to thwart the aliens, including creating makeshift weapons, such as a homemade potato spud gun.  2) Videogame wizardry! Upon learning that the alien mind-control device only works on adults, the kids put their videogame training to good use as they get hold of one of the controls and turn their nice nana (Doris Roberts of "Everybody Loves Raymond" fame) into Ninja Nana!

Pearson Disadvantage - They can't tell their parents!

The Verdict - Both sides are bringing their A game. No matter what, it's going to be a fun, thrilling battle you don't want to miss!

"Sharpay" is going to fight aliens in the attic? Some fans might find it hard to believe that the attention-hungry diva from the first 3 "High School Musical" films will want to get her hands dirty, but Ashley Tisdale, the talented actress who played Sharpay, was eager for a challenge and was thrilled to embrace a character that evolves from a "typical teen, trying to act older and more mature than she really is" to an alien-battling warrior who "really stands up for herself".

Having starred in one of the most successful film franchises of all time, Ashley knows a thing or two about a good movie. "I really think there is something for everyone in this movie," she shared. "Kids will love it, and the film has an edge that teens will respond to." In fact, veteran producer, Barry Josephson's, goal was to produce a film the entire family would enjoy, just as he had done with Disney's "Enchanted". "This is not just a movie for kids, because there are a lot of laughs, big action set pieces and original situations," he explained. "You don't always know where the story is going, or what the aliens are going to do next. And kids are always nothing less than surprising!"

Presented by Twentieth Century Fox, "Aliens in the Attic" opens in theatres July 31st. Bring the whole family (even Grandma), grab some popcorn, and enjoy!
