"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Colorful, musical, and filled with fun characters. That's exactly what you get with the movie Rio. The story follows a young Blue Macaw who was birdnapped from his native Rio when he was just a baby. After an unexpected trip to, of all places, Minnesota and an accident which leaves the little guy by himself by the side of a road, Blu was immediately taken into the heart and home of a little girl named Linda. As Linda grew, so did Blu. They were inseparable; the best of friends.
Years later Linda is persuaded to take Blu back to Rio to mate with the only other Blue Macaw in existence, the story begins. Blu is again birdnapped and finds himself in the middle of a strange country with strange birds. He just wants to get back to Linda and his comfy life. By the way, Blu cannot fly but he doesn't need to fly because he has everything he wants in his home. So, a bird out of his element that cannot fly is more than a dilemma. It is a disaster. But the little fellow doesn't give up. He and his new friends manage to encounter one detour after another in their quest to return to their normal lives. With all the fun and frolic of Rio at Carnival time, you're sure to have a great adventure with Blu and the gang from Brazil.
This is definitely an upbeat, high flying (except for Blu) adventure for the entire family.
