Have you ever wondered what the celebs get at those pre-award gifting suites? When I received my invitation to a pre-Emmy gifting suite I wasn't sure if I got it because I write about entertainment or products. It didn't matter. This was the perfect setting to combine both subjects.

The suites are filled with products all with the intent of celebrity endorsements or to have a celeb photographed in a specific outfit or with a special handbag etc. Before big events, like the Emmy's, there are gifting suites around Los Angeles. The particular one I went to was put together to shine a spotlight on the Humane Society of the United States.

Sure, there were wall-to-wall actors mulling around the rooms, but since I have already interviewed most of them (sometimes several times) my concentration was solely on the products. Just what were all those celebrities getting this year? Being a member of the media I was not privy to everything that the "talent" was given, but I did manage to collect a few items that might be of interest to you, the general public. These are the same items the actors were provided and some of them will undoubtedly be seen in upcoming photographs of the celebrities.

Puma's "Project Pink" donates 100% of the profits from these products to the Breast Cancer Research and Education Fund. The company was promoting their new pink watch and from watching the young actors in the suite (no pun intended), I have a feeling these watches will be on many wrists this season. The watch is cool in itself, but the fact that the profits go to this special cause makes it even cooler! So if you see a photo of one of your favorite actors wearing a pink watch, odds are it is this Puma watch!

Whitening teeth is nothing new. Just drive down the street and you'll probably see several offices that specialize in teeth whitening. At-home whiteners are also readily available and pretty common in this town that strives for perfection. Whitening Lightning has two items that are a little different than the others. First is their "Super Booster Whitening Pen." Just put a small amount on your teeth or an area that needs a little whitening and wait until it dries. Then go about your business. Their other product is their "Professional Home Teeth Whitening System." It takes about twenty minutes to work. That's it. I have a feeling that many of the actors who were there will be taking advantage of this system before they appear at special events. Why not? It doesn't take a long time and it works.

The Brazilian Peel is an at-home treatment that reduces the look of pores and fine lines. It comes in syringes with Glycolic Acid and Açai. Simply squirt the syringe into your hand, mix it together then rub onto your face. The big benefit is that it is great for even sensitive skin (like mine) and is done in the privacy of your own home. The company also makes a Brazilian Peel Clear for acne sufferers. I haven't tried this so I cannot vouch for its effectiveness, however it should be great for teens who are suffering from acne or even moms who often experience acne due to hormonal imbalance. Dermaesthetics was giving out their Age Defiance skin care products. The set they provided includes cleansing oil, life duo, DNA serum, and a super moisture cream for both AM and PM skin care. These products are designed to help the appearance as well as the health of your skin. Have you ever wondered how actors look so good all the time? It's because they have all kinds of products like these at their disposal.

And for a quick bite for busy moms who want to stay healthy but maybe take off a few pounds, the people from Think Thin were there doling out their delicious bars that are high in protein and gluten free. I tried the Creamy Peanut Butter. It's not sweet but it does taste good. Each bar is 230 calories, but it was explained to me that because they are all natural our bodies metabolize the calories faster than bars that are not all natural.

Although there were literally dozens of products at this gifting suite, I focused on just a few. I think another product line that is worthwhile is the Growing through Arts books for kids. These books not only tell stories but also give helpful advice to youngsters and get them thinking about situations. The company was highlighting "The Nutcracker," which makes a perfect holiday gift. At the end of the book is a glossary explaining some of the words that might not be familiar to some kids. This is a high-quality line of books for young readers.
