When Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) - a "brainiac," aka social outcast, starts at a new high school she gets more than she bargained for. Troy (Zac Efron) is the star quarterback at East High, and as we all know, the "jocks" and the "brainiacs" don't mix. Troy is expected to keep his allegiance to the team and the cheerleaders, but sometimes a guy has to do what a guy has to do, and he feels he must try out for the school musical. Troy just wants to follow his heart, which is with singing - and Gabriella. But when their prospective peer groups decide all is not right with this new situation, they step in to break up whatever happiness the two have found with their singing and with each other. Peer pressure is at its peak in this movie. This new "Remix" edition contains not only the original version of the film but a "sing-along" version as well as "dance-alongs" and music videos plus a reunion of the cast.
