Sugar is the Enemy

Sugar is the Enemy

Finding the hidden sugar in your diet is a key factor in successfully losing weight, says author Doug Varrieur in a revised and expanded new edition of his 2010 book, Fat to Skinny where he explains that sugar is the enemy.

"Diets don't work," says Varrieur. "The very thought of a diet leads us to the understanding that it is temporary. This eating plan is not temporary. This eating plan is an identification process of the one ingredient that has made you fat and kept you fat: sugar. It trains you to remove sugar from your everyday food intake, allowing you to live your life as a healthy, vibrant skinny person, never fighting the weight battle again."

Varrieur explains how he lost 100 pounds after cutting the sugar out of his diet, went from a size 48 to 32 waist, reversed his Type 2 diabetes - and has kept the weight off for more than seven years. His wife Sherri also lost 75 pounds, all without special prepackaged foods, surgery, drugs or exercise, so Varrieur wrote Fat to Skinny because he wanted to save lives by helping others to conquer obesity and related diseases. He discovered that sugar is the enemy.

"In this program," he says, "people replace their favorite foods with low-sugar alternatives, so you never crave the old way of eating and you always feel satisfied."

                                           Sugar is the enemy

The new edition of Fat to Skinny includes more than 200 recipes that Varrieur says will provide "a delicious variety of low-sugar/low-carb meals to make your eating experience varied and exciting. You'll be amazed at the flavors you'll enjoy with quick easy recipes designed to satisfy your every urge." Just because sugar is the enemy, doesn't mean we can't have tasty meals.

The cookbook portion of the book is organized into five sections: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner; Snack Trays, Appetizers, and Niblits; and Dessert. Sweet-and-sour pork on a stick, chicken wings, game-day nachos, raspberry crepes, strawberry pancakes and bacon, Philly cheesesteak and egg wraps and Mexican taco salad are just some of the offerings.

The new edition of Fat to Skinny will be available January 1, 2012, and will include a 50-minute motivational CD and amazing success stories from people who have lost fat using Varrieur's find-the-sugar, lose-the-sugar principles.
