New Online Rental Boutique for Moms-to-be

New Online Rental Boutique for Moms-to-be

Mine for Nine is a ground-breaking online boutique that provides a way for women to borrow instead of buy stylish maternity apparel - at a cost 75 percent less than the retail price. It offers a wide range of maternity attire, including casual wear, professional apparel, and special occasion dresses.

The concept was born in 2008 when company founder Marisa Moss reunited with two pregnant grad school friends who were frustrated with the cost and limited selection of professional maternity wear at their local boutiques. This led Marisa to hatch a plan for a website that would allow women to borrow maternity clothes on a monthly basis instead of buying them outright, from a selection that comprised a wide variety of both national and international designers.

There are many advantages to borrowing instead of buying maternity clothes; not only is there no long-term financial investment, but borrowing also allows expecting moms to get the right size instead of guessing how big or small they'll be at a given stage of their pregnancy. They can also expand their wardrobe by the season, and never have to worry about either storage issues or trying to "repurpose" maternity pieces that no longer fit after their pregnancy.

Mine for Nine works like this: Expectant mothers browse the extensive online maternity closet and select items that suit their style and wardrobe needs. The selection includes suits, skirts, blouses, pants, coats, dresses and more. Mine For Nine measures each garment's bust, waist, and hip dimensions, plus inseam and back length to ensure a perfect fit. All the clothing is then loaned on a monthly basis (except for special occasion dresses, which have a 14-day borrowing window). There's never a late fee; if a mom-to-be keeps it more than a month, prices are pro-rated for each week thereafter. Mine For Nine provides five different shipping options, including complimentary shipping for orders over $75.

After the borrower has outgrown an item or is just ready for something different, she simply returns them in a postage-paid package. During the ordering process, Mine For Nine takes note of the baby's gender and all orders are wrapped in color-appropriate tissue paper and come with a handmade knit baby cap for a boy or girl. All garments are professionally cleaned by hydro dry cleaning and Faultless by Nature wet cleaning, an EPA-approved laundry service.

Mine for Nine's inventory is an ever-evolving "closet" of maternity attire, including pieces from such notable boutique designers as Australia's Ripe Maternity, England's Seraphine, and California's Maternité. You'll also find items from Maternal America, Mayreau, Olian, Shabby Apple, Jules & Jim, Attesa, Juliet Dream, Everly Grey, Pouch, More of Me, Heather Lehman and Hatch.
