During your next visit to the beautiful island of Oahu, instead of simply lounging on the beach why not try something different? Hawaii Nautical is a premier company featuring several ocean activities for everyone.

While visiting Disney's Aulani Resort we decided to take a Snorkel and Sail adventure. The concierge can set you up with any one of several options.

The Hawaii Nautical excursion we took was perhaps the best day of the entire week. We had some fun times on the boat and in the water. And we didn't need to schlep our snorkel equipment with us. They provide everything, including new snorkels for each guest, which you get to keep when you leave the boat.

Our particular excursion went out in the morning. We had some snacks on the boat on the ride out and from the vantage of the boat had a complete view of the Aulani resort from the ocean. When the captain was satisfied we had approached an area filled with fish, the boat stopped and we prepared for the snorkeling part of the excursion. After stepping into the water I was quickly off to discover the wonders of undersea life. And I found some great wonders at that. There were sea turtles and a variety of fish, and I was swimming among them all. There's nothing like being in the water with these beautiful creatures.

After our time in the water, we were treated to a buffet lunch. And let me tell you, that was some of the best food I have ever had on a snorkeling adventure. These guys know how to make their guests feel at home and enjoy their time on the catamaran.

In the beginning of the journey each passenger was given two tickets, which could be exchanged for drinks on the boat. Whether you want the traditional local fruit punch known as POG (Passion Fruit/Orange/Guava) or something a little harder, you get your choice.

Now, for the piece de resistance, on certain morning excursions guests are guaranteed to see dolphins or whales, and if they don't then they are given a free return ticket. How's that for service? The folks at Hawaiian Nautical think of everything.

And for those guests who do not want to snorkel, they are perfectly welcome to stay on the boat and enjoy the scenery and companionship of the crew. I was told that sometimes families split their time in the water, with parents taking turns snorkeling and caring for their infants.

I have a special affection for these guys. They treat everyone like family - the family members you like, not the ones you can't stand - and Captain James was so much fun. Actually, everyone on the adventure was fun and made our time with them memorable and enjoyable.

Yes, I've been snorkeling in many locations around the world, and yes, sometimes I have seen more exotic fish, but I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed this particular sail/snorkel adventure and will definitely book another one with these guys when I return to Oahu.

Hawaiian Nautical is a family-owned and operated company so you know they really care about their guests. For more information about Hawaiian Nautical, you can look them up on their website to see all the different options they provide: http://www.hawaiinautical.com/snorkel

To my new friends at Hawaiian Nautical, a sincere MAHALO.
